LOHAS (Lifestyles Of Health and Sustainability )

Have you heard about LOHAS?
In my country Japan, we started to hear the life style of  LOHAS from around 2004.

LOHAS can be defined as following;
*Life style which concerns environmental conservation
*Consider to account sustainable development in economic activities
*Consider natural and healthy diet (take organic foods, more vegitables, promote fair trade food)
*Consider natural healing (do not depend on too much on morden medical practice)

I think that I should consider to be a LOHAS person! How about you?

  1. I'm interested that natural healing is part of it, and that modern medicine is compared unfavourably to it, in LOHAS. That's one that doesn't arise so much in our debates in the classroom, unlike the rest of the points above. Why natural healing, and what exactly does that mean?

    *adds LOHAS to list of things to look into! :) *

  2. Hi Kyoko, no I haven;t heard of LOHAS. Is it something the government promotes, or is it more of a community-organised initiative? How is LOHAS perceived by the public, is it something you'd be happy to be part of? or is it seen as something a bit strange?
